These metal doors leading to the outside deck had a plain white finish that didn't match the beautifully finished moulding and louvers.

Wood-graining the doors made them look like the same type of wood as the louvers. Faux finishing then matched the color and patina so that they visually became one unit. Wood graining gives ordinary woods and non-wooden surfaces the appearance of exotic species of wood.
